Upcoming events in Ely :Saturday 2nd June 2012 : The Ely Diamond Jubilee Country Show Rural Crafts, Locally produced food, displays such as terrier racing, shepherding, dog agility, falconry, wood carving, glass blowing will all be on display. Saturday 2nd June 2012 : Diamond Jubilee Concert Ely Cathedral presents a special celebration concert. The programme will consist of well known choral works as well as popular patriotic music to include favourites such as 'Rule Britannia', 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'Jerusalem'. The concert will be sung by massed choirs and accompanied by The East Anglian Chamber Orchestra. Tuesday 5th June 2012 : Guided Tour Cromwell, King in all but Name. A new guided tour of Oliver Cromwell's House in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee. Join this new tour to find out why Oliver Cromwell would not take the title of King and what happened to the Crown Jewels. Learn about Oliver Cromwell's principles, how he governed the country and how King Charles II punished him! |

Britain’s only American Military Cemetery is located within fifteen miles outside of Ely. So much to see and do to make a truly memorable trip.

The Olympic and Paralympic events will be held during July and August with one of the highlights being the arrival of the Paralympic flame in Ely over the August Bank Holiday weekend! The Flame will be received on the exquisite riverside before resting in Ely Museum for all to view! Ely is one of just six venues chosen for the flame to visit within Cambridgeshire!
