Kennett (Population 360)
Kennett is a small village approximately 6 miles northeast of Newmarket. The facilities within the village include a public house, a primary school, a playing filed and a pavilion that is used for some village events. People from the village also use the village hall in Kentford. Kennett station has the advantage of being on both the main Cambridge-Ipswich and the Peterborough-Ipswich railway lines. The village also benefits from a regular bus service, which runs six days a week.
The lovely church of St Nicholas (c. 14th/15th century, of flint and rubble construction) stands on a mound set among trees away from the village roads and overlooks the River Kennett.
