Ely Farmers' Market

Ely Farmers' Market received independent certification from FARMA, the National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association in 2002. This is an independent verification scheme that ensures markets are working to the recommended criteria to ensure that produce on the Farmers' Market is locally sourced.  For more information visit the FARMA website.

Since the Farmers' Market was first piloted in July 2000 as a monthly event it has grown in popularity and is now held fortnightly, on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.

Over 25 stalls now sell a range of merchandise from artisan bread and cakes, chutneys, preserves, pies, eggs, cheese, organic vegetables, soft fruits, asparagus, chilli plants and products, flowers, plants and herbs to rare breed meat and more exotic fare such as rhea eggs and goat meat. There's also food to go from venison burgers to samosas.  Producer attendance varies with the seasons, but you can be assured of variety and choice all year round.

The Farmers' Market trades from 8.30am to 2.00pm.

For more information on the producers attending the Farmers' Market, an updated Farmers' Market Produce Directory will be available shortly.
