Ely Farmers' Market
Every 2nd & 4th Saturday in the month
Since the Farmers' Market was first piloted in July 2000 as a monthly event it has grown in popularity and is now held twice monthly, on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.
Over 25 stalls sell a range of merchandise including artisan bread and cakes, apple juice, honey, chutneys, preserves, sweet and savoury pies, eggs, cheese, flatbread, organic vegetables, seasonal soft fruits, seasonal asparagus, chilli plants and products, flowers, plants and herbs, fish, shellfish, rare breed meat, venison, game and more exotic fare such as goat's meat. There's also food to go from venison burgers to samosas and curry goat. Producer attendance varies with the seasons, but you can be assured of variety and choice all year round.
Ely Farmers' Market received independent certification from FARMA, the National Farmers' Retail and Markets Association in 2002. This is an independent verification scheme that ensures markets are working to the recommended criteria to ensure that produce on the Farmers' Market is locally sourced.
