Enjoy a day in the countryside exploring the magical wildlife and landscapes of the Wicken Fen Vision lands from the Lodes Way cycleway.

The Lodes Way is a 9 mile cycleway developed by the Trust from Wicken passing Anglesey Abbey to Bottisham, which forms part of National Cycle Network Route (NCN) 11.

The route uses both traffic free cycle ways and minor public roads and is signed using blue national cycle network signs, links to nearby villages and to NCN 51 are also signed. From Wicken the Lodes Way links to Ely via NCN 11 and from Bottisham you can reach Cambridge via NCN 51.

At present the Lodes Way crosses Burwell Lode by means of a footbridge. Cycles have to be carried and riders of tandems, trikes and trailer bikes may have difficulty. This crossing is not suitable for horse riders. A new bridge suitable for all users is planned for 2013.

Cycle hire will be available from Wicken Fen from April 2011.
